Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia (mobile and clinic-based services)

Effective Date: [Insert Date]

1. Overview

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Halotherapy. By booking, attending, or receiving services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Halotherapy provides nurse-led, non-invasive adjunct therapies including Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT / Photobiomodulation), Therapeutic Ultrasound, and breastfeeding and postpartum support services. Services are delivered alongside — not in place of — standard medical, midwifery, or allied health care.

2. Scope of Practice

All services are delivered within the professional scope of a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHPRA and NMBA standards.

Halotherapy does not provide medical diagnosis, prescribe medication, or replace care from a GP, midwife, IBCLC, physiotherapist, or specialist.

Treatments are adjunctive and supportive only.

3. Client Eligibility & Screening

All clients are required to complete a pre-treatment screening and consent process.

Services may be declined, deferred, or modified if contraindications, red flags, or safety concerns are identified.

Clients must disclose accurate and complete medical history, including current medications, infections, pregnancy or postpartum complications, and implanted medical devices.

Failure to disclose relevant information may increase risk and void liability protections.

4. Medical Escalation & Red Flags

Halotherapy does not treat active infection or medical emergencies.

Symptoms such as fever, systemic illness, rapidly worsening pain, suspected infective mastitis, or clinical deterioration will require referral to a GP, Emergency Department, or relevant healthcare provider.

In cases where antibiotics or medical treatment are indicated, adjunct therapies may only be provided where clinically appropriate and after medical review.

5. Nature of Treatments & Outcomes

LLLT and Therapeutic Ultrasound are evidence-supported modalities used widely in physiotherapy and rehabilitation settings.

Individual responses vary. No guarantee of outcomes, symptom resolution, or duration of effect is made.

Improvement may require multiple sessions and adherence to recommended self-care and referral pathways.

6. Consent

Informed consent is required prior to all treatments.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

By proceeding with treatment, clients acknowledge understanding of:

The nature and purpose of the therapy

Potential benefits and limitations

Possible risks and alternatives

7. Appointments & Bookings

Appointments may be conducted in-home (mobile) or at a clinic location.

Accurate address and access details must be provided for mobile visits.

Appointment times include assessment, treatment, education, and documentation.

Halotherapy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if safety, scope, or professional boundaries are compromised.

8. Fees & Payment

Fees are as advertised at the time of booking.

Payment is required on the day of service unless otherwise agreed.

Package pricing must be used within the specified timeframe and is non-transferable.

No Medicare rebates currently apply. Private health rebates are subject to individual insurer policies.

9. Cancellations & No-Shows

A minimum 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

Late cancellations or non-attendance may incur a fee of up to 100% of the scheduled appointment cost.

Halotherapy reserves the right to waive fees at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.

10. Mobile Visit Conditions

Mobile appointments are subject to practitioner safety and environmental suitability.

Unsafe environments (including aggressive behaviour, substance misuse, or unsafe access) will result in immediate termination of the appointment with full fee payable.

Travel fees may apply outside standard service areas.

11. Professional Boundaries

Services are strictly therapeutic and clinical in nature.

Inappropriate behaviour, harassment, or boundary violations will not be tolerated and will result in immediate cessation of services.

12. Confidentiality & Privacy

Client information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Privacy practices are outlined in the Halotherapy Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by law, Halotherapy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from services provided.

Liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law.
